<![CDATA[Interim and Final Reports into Magaung Correction Centre]]> http://foip.saha.org.za/request_tracker/entry/cal-2015-dcs-0006 http://foip.saha.org.za/request_tracker/entry/cal-2015-dcs-0006#When:00:03:59Z On 26 August 2014, the Centre for Applied Legal Studies lodged (CALS)  a request for the Department of Correctional Services’ interim report on its investigation into the Mangaung Correction Centre in 2013 that preceded the takeover of the Centre by the Department in October 2013. Cals also requested the response of the Bloemfontein Corrections Contract (BCC) to the interim report.
In this PAIA application CALS now requests:
1. A copy of the G4S response to the interim report; and
2. The final version of the report.

<![CDATA[Request for Report on Departmental Investigation into the Mangaung Correctional Centre]]> http://foip.saha.org.za/request_tracker/entry/cal-2014-dcs-0002 http://foip.saha.org.za/request_tracker/entry/cal-2014-dcs-0002#When:00:03:46Z The Centre for Applied Legal Studies (CALS) understands that the Department of Justice and Correctional Services (DoJ&CS;) conducted an investigation into the Mangaung Correction Centre (MCC), following a series of incidents that took place at the MCC while under the control of Bloemfontein Corrections Contract (BCC) and G4S Corrections Services Bloemfontein. These alleged incidents took place in 2013 and preceded the takeover of the MCC by the DoJ&CS; in October 2013.

At the conclusion of the investigation by DoJ&CS;, a report was handed to the BCC.

As set out in a DoJ&CSmedia; statement of 14 July 2014, we understand that the BCC was required to provide the Minister’s office with its response to the report within 21 days of that date and by the end of July 2014.

CALS requests a copy of the DoJ&CS; report as well as the response to the report by the BCC, if any.
